JHMC Plants Seeds of Learning in Buguias Central School
Rooted in sustainability and shared heritage, the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) has donated 500 coffee seedlings to Buguais Central School, strengthening its commitment to educational and agricultural development in Buguias. The seedlings were formally received by Principal Mary Ann S. Pacio, who expressed gratitude for the support that will benefit both the school and the surrounding community.
Propagated by the JHMC nursery, the coffee seedlings will be planted not only within the school grounds but also in nearby elementary schools and designated community spaces. Once matured, the coffee trees will serve as a source of community harvest, an initiative that empowers local families to benefit directly from the fruits of shared stewardship.
“This donation is more than just a gift of plants; it’s a seed of opportunity,” said Principal Pacio. “It supports our educational programs by teaching students the value of agriculture, while also fostering a deeper connection between the school and the community.”
The donation aligns with JHMC’s mission to promote sustainable practices and community engagement through heritage-rooted programs. By integrating agriculture into the school’s curriculum and daily life, the project aims to instill environmental awareness, responsibility, and pride in local traditions.
