Pacdal, Baguio City — The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) was conferred the Gawad Kalikasan Award by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Cordillera Administrative Region (DENR-CAR) during the culmination of its 35th Anniversary on June 30, 2022.
This was in recognition of JHMC’s commitment, dedication, and contribution in the management of air quality and environmental stewardship which concomitantly is one of the mandates of the corporation.
JHMC is the first in the Cordillera Administrative Region to be a signatory to the Adopt-An-Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station Program.
Various efforts of the corporation towards environmental development and sustainability are continuing in order to abide by its mandate as the primary steward of Camp John Hay.
During the award ceremony, JHMC was represented by its President and CEO, Allan
R. Garcia, who personally received the Plaque of Recognition. He was accompanied by the personnel of the JHMC- Environment Management Division (EMD).
Apart from it being an accolade, the award encourages the recipients to keep up their environmental initiatives and efforts which conforms to everyone’s intergenerational responsibility of preserving the rhythm and harmony of nature for the full enjoyment of the next generation. END.
