Camp John Hay Museum Vision Presented to SOSEC

Malacañang Palace, Manila — The vision for the proposed Camp John Hay Museum was formally presented to key officials of the Office of the Social Secretary, including Social Secretary Bianca Zobel, Deputy Social Secretary Dina Tantoco, and Functionary and Heritage Management Director Marco Araneta. Leading the presentation were John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) President and CEO Manjit T. Singh Reandi, Vice President and COO Jane Theresa G. Tabalingcos, along with their team.
Held at the Malacañan Palace, the proposal unveiled a transformative plan to repurpose the historic Camp John Hay Theatre into a dual-purpose museum, one that honors the past while inspiring future generations. The envisioned museum will feature immersive exhibits and innovative spaces that celebrate the site’s historical significance and the enduring spirit of the Cordillera.
Singh Reandi underscored the museum’s role as a cultural anchor, highlighting its potential to:
  • Strengthen community identity and pride
  • Preserve the region’s legacy of learning and resilience
  • Boost tourism and stimulate the local economy
  • Inspire a deeper sense of stewardship and belonging
Once a youth center and performance venue during the American period, the old theatre will be thoughtfully restored and adaptively reused. This approach ensures the preservation of its historical essence while opening new avenues for creativity, connection, and engagement.
By positioning the museum as a cornerstone of cultural pride and historical continuity, JHMC seeks to foster a renewed appreciation for the Cordillera’s rich legacy, bridging generations through storytelling, space, and shared memory.
