The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) marked its first-ever participation in the Saleng Festival with its unique entry in the Bonsai Tree Cart Parade on June 30, 2024.
JHMC’s cart entry featured various elements that generally signify the corporation’s environmental mandate of preserving Camp John Hay’s forested areas. Its most distinct feature was the Igorot maiden carrying a kayabang with a bonsai in it, as this represents everyone and the corresponding responsibility we all must carry in protecting our environment.
The Saleng Festival is a month-long celebration observed every June. It was institutionalized in 2022 to highlight the importance of cooperation and the unified commitment to preserving the environment.
