Aligned with its environmental mandate, the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) has extended crucial support to the tree planting initiatives which the Department of Public Works and Highways- Cordillera (DPWH-CAR) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology- Cordillera (BJMP- CAR) recently conducted at various sites within Camp John Hay.
Held on different days this June, these efforts yielded to the planting of 200 Benguet Pines and 300 Coffee seedlings, contributing significantly to the regreening of the identified sites within Camp John Hay. These also augment the corporationโs social responsibility as it continuously initiates and supports activities geared towards sustaining and maintaining ecological balance to areas under its administration and beyond.
For its part, JHMC has provided seedlings and identified suitable areas for the conduct of the activities within Camp John Hay through its foresters. Also, JHMC actively assisted by demonstrating the proper handling and planting of the seedlings, which are all crucial in the seedlingsโ survival.
As the steward of Camp John Hay, the JHMC continuously fosters sustainable practices to ensure that the biodiversity within the area thrives. END
