FROM TRAINING TO TRABAHO: JHMC, TESDA-CSITE MOU OPENS NEW OPPORTUNITIES

The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority–Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (TESDA-CSITE) have formally sealed a partnership to strengthen workforce readiness and community development through the establishment of the John Hay Training Center.
The collaboration was formalized during a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, held during the celebration of TESDA-CSITE’s 7th Founding Anniversary.

JHMC President and CEO Manjit Singh Reandi emphasized the vision for the center, describing it as “a space not only for skills development, learning, and new opportunities, but also a place where the community can come together, find its voice, and grow as one.”

Represented by TESDA Secretary Jose Francisco B. Benitez and President Singh Reandi, the agreement is anchored on the principle of “Training to Trabaho in Action,” a commitment to ensure that training leads to employment, income, and a better future.

The initiative will open pathways in tourism services, maintenance, and other technical fields, with programs designed to meet the evolving demands of local industries. The MOU emphasizes hands-on training, workplace immersion, and upskilling opportunities. TESDA-CSITE highlighted the importance of aligning technical-vocational education with market needs to produce highly employable graduates, while JHMC reaffirmed its role in providing real-world training environments.

“It’s about the people. It’s about skills. And it’s about giving opportunities to our community,” Singh Reandi added.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including JHMC Vice President and COO Jane Theresa Tabalingcos, Congressman Mauricio Domogan, former Baguio City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista, Councilor Jose Molintas, and TESDA Deputy Director General Vidal D. Villanueva III. Also in attendance were representatives from local industries such as MOOG and the Baguio Country Club, together with CSITE leaders from other provinces.
