JHMC Clears 287 kg of Trash in Community Clean-Up Drive

In support of National Clean-Up Month under Proclamation No. 244, the  John   Hay   Management  Corporation  (JHMC)   conducted   a  community-driven Clean-Up Drive on Friday, September 19, 2025. This initiative reinforces the nationwide call to protect and preserve the environment.
The event took place in key areas, including major road networks along Loakan Road, from the Voice of America (VOA) gate to Panagbenga Park, and throughout the trails of Camp John Hay. Volunteers from JHMC  and  JHSEZ  locators  came  together  to  clean  roadsides  and  waterways, aiming to prevent pollutants, debris, and waste from harming vital water bodies within Camp John Hay.
More than 200 volunteers participated in the activity. Their collective efforts resulted in the collection of 49 trash bags, weighing a total of 287.10 kilograms. This significant contribution not only cleaned the area but also enhanced the environmental health of the community, a result we can all take pride in.
Importantly, the clean-up was timely and proactive, taking place just ahead of the impending arrival of Super Typhoon Nando, which was forecast to bring torrential rains and strong winds to Northern Luzon starting September 21, 2025. By clearing waterways and removing debris, the initiative helped reduce the risk of flooding and environmental damage that could be exacerbated by the storm.
