SINGH REANDI EMPHASIZE SHARED ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY DURING THE BLISTT AIRSHED MEETING

Baguio City, Philippines—The 2nd Quarter BLISTT Airshed Governing Board Meeting brought together diverse local government units which include La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, Tublay and the Provincial Government of Benguet, government and educational institutions, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-CAR) and the Environment Management Bureau (EMB-CAR), Department of Energy (DOE) – Luzon Field Office, Department of Tourism-CAR, Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Information Agency, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), University of the Cordilleras (UC) and private sector representatives from Philex Mining Corporation, to discuss air quality and environmental protection.

John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) President and Chief Executive Officer Manjit T. Singh Reandi, in his welcome remarks, emphasized that “the protection of the environment is a shared responsibility,” calling for stronger collaboration among the stakeholders present. Key agenda items included air quality assessment and environmental protection efforts.

JHMC, as a member of the BLISTT Airshed Governing Board, shared its best practices for consistently maintaining good air quality within Camp John Hay and presented ongoing and future projects that promote forest conservation and air quality maintenance. The meeting reaffirmed the participants’ commitment to sustainable environmental efforts.
