Camp John Hay, Baguio City – Following its relaunch last Friday, February 28, 2025, the Secret Garden at Camp John Hay is seen as having great potential for boosting tourism in the Cordillera Region, according to Regional Director Jovita A. Ganongan of the Department of Tourism – CAR.
In her speech, Director Ganongan highlighted that the relaunch of the Secret Garden aligns with the DOT’s eco-tourism and cultural heritage programs. She also proposed a potential partnership between DOT-CAR and JHMC to integrate art into the area, offering visitors an experience where the environment and tourists coexist harmoniously, embodying the purest form of eco-tourism.
Meanwhile, Atty. Kristoffer Lee V. Dance, JHMC Board of Director, emphasized the importance of creating a space that promotes sustainability and harmony with nature. He encouraged visitors of the Secret Garden to sit on one of the benches to breathe, reconnect, and recharge, and to experience the serenity of nature.
The Secret Garden, with its historical narrative and unique landscape, fits perfectly with the Department of Tourism’s efforts to promote sustainability. Visitors are encouraged to be mindful travelers, avoiding litter and respecting the beauty of nature.
